Ashford Photography Student Wins Top Prize at KAFEC Creative Design Fest

Wednesday, November 2016

Huge congratulations are in order for Ashford College photography student Ben King, who won the Creative Category at this year’s KAFEC Creative Design Fest with his stunning studies of wildlife. Ben was up against very strong entrants from Canterbury, North Kent and Mid Kent Colleges at the event, held at MidKent College. He won a year’s free subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud to assist in developing his talents.

Having just successfully completed his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography, Ben has decided to continue his studies within the Hadlow Group of colleges – and his passion for wildlife has prompted him to start an Animal Management course at Hadlow College.

Ben’s tutor, Marc Christmas, said: “The standard in the photography category was very high, which makes Ben’s achievement all the more impressive. I’m very proud of him – and his work, which explores the admired beauty of life and death. Ben showed great skill in the studio, using mixed lighting techniques and camera control to create photographs with a poetic visual impact.”
